Sonar 2.2, Win98SE and sf2's problem!

Hi,

Just to relate a particular problem I have:

- With the 3536 drivers (I cannot install 3537 or 3538, it gives a failure message at boot), I have a problem trying to load sf2's. I can't load sf2's inside Sonar 2.2 apart from a 2 mb little GM sf2. I tried Unison (32 mb), Aspirin 15.8 mb and sYnerGI 8 mb and each time, Sonar stuck at loading the sf2 (I waited as long as 15 minutes and nothing happens).

I can load the same sf2's via the KxSoundfont loader utility only if Sonar 2.2 is closed. Then, if I open Sonar after successfully loading one of these fonts, they're removed by Sonar...

I found only a workaround: I picked up the sfman32.dll found in this thread ( sfman32.dll and Cubase SX patch names ) and if I load the font before I open Sonar 2.2, all is fine. I can then use the default device to play sf2's. If I try to load the sf2's after Sonar 2.2 is started, I got the stuck hourglass thing I had before...

My SbLive is a CT8432
Running an ABIT BE6-II board with a Celeron 533
384 mb of SDRAM
Win98SE french version

Apart from this, these drivers are amazing: I can run an instance of DR-008 and one of SFZ, each one loaded with 100 mb patches at an ASIO latency of 5.8 ms, all of this with relatively good Fx's requiring no CPU cycles... Wow!

**This is only a project to resurrect this old computer and give it a second life. I already have a more performant machine (not by today's specs: Athlon 1.4 gHz) and wanted to have a second limited DAW computer to share some CPU load. The goal is reached.
