My name is Jason McCallough, but you may know me as Gaminator X. I was a pro gamer, and good at it, until it all went downhill. I started using performance enhancing drugs -- well, everyone does. The more I took them, the more I needed them. Gaming without them became hard, and I needed more and more to stay on top. And then I was no longer on top.

With travel and drug costs to pay and no money being won, I lost everything I had, to the point where I had to sell my gaming rigs. I stopped gaming and had to go on drug rehabilitation. Luckily my doctor says that there's no permanent damage to my brain.

I'm finally getting back to gaming, and I'm ready to build a new gaming rig. A Radeon 4870 X2 will hit the spot just right.

I think I should win the card because I am one of the first 10 members to join DH and have continued to frequent DH from the start. I was forced into a NVIDIA card my last upgrade because ATI had fallen out of touch with the meaning of performance graphics cards during that time lapse. Now that they have come back to hold it down from top to bottom with the 4000 series I would love to ignite a 8800GT to see [COLOR=Red]ATI red[/COLOR] as the flames engulf the helpless and defenseless 8800GT.

I want this card in order to escape from a world of "I can't find the any key". Working for a police department as the tech guy makes you see all types of badly maintained technology, sighing over someone tripping on a cable breaking the only good piece of hardware in the office. The printers at time seem to have more sense than the users, refusing to print 300 copies of an e-mail that everyone should have read. I deal with more issues of "is it plugged in" than anything else... please distract me so I can remind myself what it means to have good hardware (Bills keep piling up) and be able to depend on them too. Now to return to a computer that a officer kicked and wedged the case shut.

My step father came drunk and threw out the window my computer! Luckily the computer was saved by my fat sister coz' she was sleeping under the window. She is in hospital now but thank God my computer is ok except...the DVI cable was snapped from my 8800GTS card connector. The card is destroyed.

I am Kuri and I am an eschimos living on the North Pole. Here all winter is night for six months. There is nothing to do but play games and sleep. I need a powerful card to power up my window. I replaced the window in my igloo with a large LCD TV. When I am not gaming I use a nice wallpaper to simulate the daytime. This "window" is the only world I have. I need to make my "world" full HD. I want to play games and see a sunny day in full HD. I also need the card to warm my room. I reckon 4870 X2 can fulfill my wishes.

I am a capable shooter. I can frag enemies from great distances. I play CS matches with hundreds of friends. The problem is that with the distance the enemies and friends become little dots and often they merge together. To avoid this issue I figured out that I need this powerful card to play in max resolution: 2560x1600.

Well, you asked for a sob story, here's mine: I just moved into a new town. Moving is supposed to be rough, but let me tell you a little of what I had to go through.

I started off without any remaining debts, other than 50 dollars owed to my landlords. I figured, hey, great time to leave town. So I started looking for a buyer for my Malibu so that I could get the money together to move. First three places I tried to get into my landlords told I was an untrustworthy son of a bitch and I did not get the places. Right there went 90 dollars worth of application fees and even more gas money (I moved over 90 miles away). So I'm out that money right there.

Also, my Malibu isn't picking up any hits, even though I had it for under 2000 dollars. On a whim (didn't plan on going through with it) I listed my 240sx at 1400 just to see if I got any hits. Well, 30 hits later I decided I needed to sell the 240 rather than the Malibu. Ok, so now I've got just enough money to move and to buy a new graphics card. That was my plan whenever I sold a car, move, and get a new bit of pretty for my PC, which is (don't let my avatar fool you) getting really outdated.

Next up I find out that my old old apartment had never contacted me about a cleaning fee for the old place. Which sucks because that was over a year and a half ago, and the fee's had piled up to being 444 dollars, so there goes a good third of what I'm getting for the car. So I have to pay that off before I can get a new place.

I get that paid off, get the new place, and get ready to move. I move out there, and my roommate stays behind for an extra week. My landlords had told me that I'd be paying 15 dollars a day for the last month in order to save me a little bit of money (normally it's still 15 dollars a day, but I'd be staying a full month and not a half month) Then, after I'm already moved they decide that we were both paying 15 dollars a day, which is crooked because I'm the only one with a lease. So now we owe them 700 dollars rather than 450 (if i had taken the whole month) I disagree with that, she calls me ungrateful, and says now I'm not getting my 450 dollar security deposit back. I tell her that's bull crap and she says she'll look into it.

I haven't heard from her since, and she won't return phone calls, the only thing I did get from them was a supoena. Wow...they're taking us to court, with my last few months that's so surprise.

I've been in town now for 3 weeks, I've had to hide out from a tornado, gotten my Malibu egged twice (one of the times doing damage and having to have my paint job fixed for a few hundred) and gotten a ticket for expired tags, which sucks because I got my tags updated when I sold the 240, but they still haven't arrived, I told the officer that and he said I'd still have to pay a fine for not having them on my car....great...

Then, I get hit with a driver responsibility fee for 200 bucks, it's a random fee that hits whoever it wants to hit.

Then I get to work and get my paycheck for the last two weeks...all 130 dollars of it...I talk to my manager and he tells me that because I switched in the middle of a pay period I wouldn't be seeing the second week of that paycheck until my next paycheck. So when I need money the most I have to wait an extra two weeks to get it.

Then last night my laptop started giving me random white out screens, so it looks like I'm going to try to have to buy one of those at some point too.

Finally, just last night, I get an email from Verizon saying that my roommate never cancelled it (all he had to do was bring the modem over when he was done) and he also never paid the last 2 months worth of it, so now I owe another 105 to them.

I'm tapped out financially, I'm lonely in a new city, I'm bored out of my mind, and all I want to do when I get home from a long stressful day at work is sit down and play some DMC4 and Grid. It's just really too bad my graphics card can't keep up. Please help me out

every time there is a prize on to be given on DH i keep telling Z.. that I think I need to get it cause its not even for me.!!. I managed to save up and go from old ati 9800SE to 8800GTS.. took me awhile and now i want to get my dad a good rig I'm going to buy the mobo, cpu and mem and it would help me a great deal to get good card as this. since the only game my dad realy loves is MS flight sim... thats a demanding game as you all know.. so please.. please...please let me suprise him :-)
