I went to the Darkside and bought an Nvidia!!! I am so sorry!! I want my catalyst back too. I couldn't buy in a new Ati in Canada when I could afford my last upgrade (even though I am 30 minutes away from their main HQ off the 401.) I really want to come back!! I need to come back--Please let me come back! Besides I am old and I really need something to compensate for my failing vision!
Clarity and realism is important--ATI makes it happen.

It is all ATI's fault! They brought out far too competitive of cards and forced Nvidia's prices into the dirt! I am poor and could not resist buying a card for $50 that was $200 only weeks earlier! So it is because of ATI that I for the first time bought a card not made by them! Please, Luke, help me come back to the light! Give me the 4870 X2, I will use it to strike the emperor down! Guys, Zardon, give me a break here, I have spent thousands of pounds over the years PC gaming and not once has anyone gave me anything for it, in fact I regularly get swore at online playing CS, or ganked playing WoW and now dwarfs like hitting me into Lava in Warhammer online.

This ATi/AMD 4870 X2 will help salve the wounds I have suffered over the years, will repay the thousands of hours of my life I have poured into my PC, it will repay the amount of times I have offered my expertise for free both online and offline (In the last few I have set up 3 laptops, 2 PCs, a wireless setup and a bit more for friends, totally gratis, as well as serving as an IT consultant at work, free).

It will also re-affirm my belief that DriverHeaven IS my home from home on the interweb, and convince me that I am actually valued as a member here as a long standing community patron, as well as being a generally nice guy, honest

Finally, I need the 4870X2 because I have never been able to afford the bleeding edge in PC tech, I have constantly had to make do with mid range at best and hope that I can pull more out of them than their value suggests (See my specs for details), the oppertunity to, just once, have the best, to sit back and let the rig do the work, rather than risking it all for those few more FPS, is too good to lose out on.

So please, when considering your verdict there Zardon, please think of me, and why I need this, more than ever, to keep my love affair with technoolgy alive, it has been so long, 20 years since I first set my eyes on my dads ZX Spectrum, to now where technology rules all and IT is mainstream, to grow up with it, to live with the boom, to now see it everywhere, to be able to stand again at the forefront of the field I love, even temporarily, is a feeling that I crave so badly, yet I fear I may not taste that sensation again for some time, unless if I can win this

If you guys are looking for something spectacular and creative, I guess I may be an unlikely candidate for your contest. But still...I'll give it a try.

I'm not going to try to woe you into feeling sorry for me or lying about who I am to win this prize. Simply put, I am a gamer who loves to game. Everyone is going through hard times and can't always afford the latest and greatest technology, and I'm no different. My low/mid-range video card is struggling with the latest games, and I just don't have the funds to buy a new one. I'm hoping to get engaged this winter and need to spend my hard earned money (working two jobs and going to school full-time...I know I'm not the only one) for an engagement ring. I would really appreciate you guys considering me for your contest so I can continue to do what makes me happy...GAME.

I may not have been a member of your forum for very long, but I visit you guys religiously once a day to check out your hardware reviews and new toys I only wish I could afford. If you choose me I will be in debt to you guys many lifetimes over. Many years later after I am married with children, and my children have children, and my children put me in a home, I will be able to pass on the legendary story to my grandchildren of how Driver Heaven allowed me and their grandma to get married because we were blessed with our very own 4870x2.

so I use my computer to calm after each shift and to release stress.

Hello..im RJ..im from Philippines..Im a gamer..i have a Nvidia 6200 Vcard..i know..its Nvidia and it is terribly old..i've replaced 8500GT instead..but my new mobo..is AMD..i don't why but my Vcard..heats up and turns off my PC.....Im guessingthat my Vcard is not compatible with my mobo..and here's my story..during my 4th year in highschool..i did not spent my daily allowance for 8 months..i've been saving it for a new video card and that's the 8500GT..i know 8500GT is very cheap but all of my savings in that 8 months of no eating,malling,and dating..is just enough to afford a 8500GT..right now im 17 years old with a weight of only 88 lbs..im not lying im very thin indeed..with this kind of physique no girls are attracted to me....and playing sports like basketball is just a dream to me..im not happy with my status right now..GAMING is my only hobby and makes me happy it is like my inspiration to drive me fix my health problem..I don't have money to buy a Vcard that can play the games i want to play(I don't have any gaming console) so im wishing that you could understand my situation..currently im using my builtin graphics card..but it can't play almost any games..even Warcraft3..so plz..let me experience my only hobby and inspiration with a ATI Radeon 4870X2..Here in the Philippines this kind of card rarely to be seen in Shops..even if there's one..i can't afford it....i hope that you let me win your prize..or pick a person that need it just like me..

Because of SAVING MONEY for a Vcard..i lost 50lbs (im 130lbs then)..my girl left me bcoz she thought that im seeing someone else (bcoz i don't go out with her and she found out that i rather choose my PC than her)..i lost my confidence..bcoz i don't play in computer shops anymore..so my reputation as a great gamer in DotA and CS is gone..and everyone thinks i am not a gamer anymore..all these for just one Vcard.. ..

I am imprisoned in the city of Kursk. I used to be a professional gamer but one day the Russian mafia crushed my fingers because I was winning matches against their bets. After reconstruction surgery I pursuit revenge. Years of training in Hitman game paid off and I was able to kill the bastards. But police tracked me and put me in jail. Now I am waiting for my lethal injection.
Meanwhile I figured a way out. I have to play one last game. The bet is huge and I can use the money to purchase my freedom.
The ideea is to project the game on a huge wall outside the prison. As projector I'll use parts from an old LCD screen and the prison search-light. The computer will be the one from the prison library. I arranged a match with another feared gamer inmate. All the gangs in the city will watch the match and place the bets. The winner will gain freedom.
The only thing missing is a powerfull video card to project the hi-def image. Your competition is my only hope. Help me mister and I'll give you 50% of my profit!

I currently do not have a desktop. Due to 2 funerals and lacks of money, I sold my desktop to get some cash. Now I have a notebook that I carry around, but I would like to have a solid desktop that I can game on. Playing CS & CoD4 on a touchpad isn't the greatest thing. So with the ATI 4870 X2, that would really give me a jump start on getting a desktop going.

(and I wasn't kidding about the 2 funerals, both around the same time in 2 different states also)

This week I passed out trying to build a computer because I was trying to remove the drive bay (very old case) and my screwdriver slipped. I was only saved by my dog who barked until the neighbors came over...

It seems that after I had to lend money to buy some new basic components, half the RAM is bad...

And for the 6600GT on the x38 chipset...it artifacts like mad in Warhammer...
