DH Competition: Win An ATI 4850!

Driver Heaven has teamed up with our friends at ATI to give you the chance to win an ATI 4850 Graphics Card!

Here's the brief:

"You've seen the powers and terrors of the Biotics used in Mass Effect. Now, create your own! Will your Biotic be used to unleash your wrath on opponents, or will it be used to support yourself or your team-mates? Let your imagination go wild!"

For those of you not familiar with Mass Effect; who still want to win this awesome prize, read more about biotics HERE and throw out a few ideas.

To enter all you have to do is post in this thread and detail your Mass Effect biotic.


The boring stuff:
The competition will close on the 25th of July 2008 and the winners will be chosen by Driver Heaven. Competition is open worldwide, multiple entries are allowed, all you need is a forum account. Driver Heaven, Gaming Heaven and AMD are not responsible for any stress caused by trying to win this competition. The final decision is the final decision, thats why its called the final decision, so we want to see no whinging, bitching or claims of "OMG, I never win, I am a loser, feel sorry for me I hope you all die" when it's over.

Biotics are powers accessed by the characters using implants that enhance natural abilities to manipulate dark energy. These abilities include hurling enemies around with the mind, raising shields that are resistant to enemy fire but still allow the player to fire through them, and creating small singularities that cause destructible parts of the environment to fly at enemies. Three of the main character classes are able to use these powers: Adepts, Vanguards and Sentinels.

my biotic power would be "inferno", the power to set people alight from the inside out. a slow death and while dying the enemies run around on fire possibly hurting other people

I'd like to be able to turn enemies to stone and then shoot them into a thousand little pieces. I'd call it "Incohare Calx"

"Electric Slide" - The biotic would force even the most conservative and strong minded enemy to make a fool of themselves through manipulating motor functions creating spastic, gyrating movements of the body. The biotic is useable on groups and it's abilities magnify exponentially the more adversaries it effects. Be warned, it automatically casts when the player enters a wedding or high school dance and can effect the caster.

My power would be some kind of reaction enhancer. You will be able to move and react faster then normal for a short period of time. This power excels most in melee range, due to the enemy not being able to keep up with your movements.

Symbiosis: For the duration of this biotic power the lives of the party members are linked. All damage to and healing of any party member is shared proportionally with the other members (i.e. 18 damage to one member of a three person party is distributed as 6 damage points to each party member).

BlueMak

"Power of Love" - Force the enemy to drop their armour and weapons and run towards the player (who used the biotic) where they will hug him/her and kiss him/her no matter how much the player shoots and hits them for X seconds duration.
Against Geth, the power forces the Geth to stop firing and try to connect with each other without the use of their "wi-fi".


Notice: I do not wish to participate in the competition since I will have to buy a laptop soon and abandon my desktop PC. I just wanted to post this biotic idea I had

IEMC

"Proposition: Gauss" - I think the best use of a Biotic would be for offense and defense, and the only thing that covers both areas is some sort of manipulation of magnetic fields. You could defend yourself and your teammates by using the magnetic field to reflect anything coming at you, from bullets to just about anything else. And you could use it for offense purposes by using it to lift large objects and using them as projectiles, or just taking you're enemies weapon / supplies from long distances or destroying them.

Come to think of it, that would be pretty badass.

"Shred" - This power would cause voracious insects to fly in and tear apart the targeted enemy. Due to an unfortunate error with how this biotic was created, if a friendly is targeted, the insects will shred the clothing of your ally but not harm them physically. Use at your own discretion....or enjoyment.

My Biotic ability is called: Taxation. The taxation attack would cause an inverse amount of damage to the enemy with every move or attack they make. If an attack is made by the enemy, whether or not damage is caused, it would reduce the heath and stamina level of the attacker. Doing nothing at all is the only way to avoid taxation.

"PEBCAK" This ability infuriates and makes the user unable to think straight. Stronger but shooting wildly. Makes target organic believe they have to fix a million BSOD's due to freeware user installs.. Makes target Droid/Synthetic have an emulated BSOD but can not force reboot. Lasts 45 seconds while emulated last known good configuration boots.

Necrosis

"Fart (Gas) Lash". Allows you to emit a strong dark cloud that immediately causes your foes to 'whip lash' their heads in pure horror from the smell thus breaking their necks.

Dwarden

"Fatal consequences"
- this biotics power causes any enemy (&friendly) which fires weapon (while in range) to experience catastrophic failure of his weaponry with terrible side-effects
(like jam, explosion, chain of explosions, space and time rifts, energy discharge,EM shockwave/pulse,equipment malfunctions and similar dramatic effects).

*Arcane Humiliation*
Ability to manipulated the mind into a chaotic state, disrupting the it causing one to experience a complete lack of confidence and strength, possible chance of causing the targeted one to drop everything and flee in mass panic thinking they were wearing absalutely no cloths at all.

Erroneus

"Soul burn"
- Enemies in sight will experience flashes of them self being burned a life. When flashes occur they can't hear anything and their vision is greatly reduced. It's not lethal, but the flashes are off course very disturbing and traumatic.

U can literally control them! MOve form mind to mind with ur free will.

"Viagra effect"

Ability to fire a viagra tablet from your finger tip which lodges in the enemies throat giving them a stiff neck for a week.

"Fear Itself" - This name derives from the saying 'there's nothing to fear but fear itself'.
When used, the user will need to focus on a single victim for a few seconds, then the victim will be overcome with absolute fear. This means the person will find anything and everything the most frightening thing they've ever seen. Most will scream, others will cower, all will go insane.

In the end there's no need to fight or confront anything, as you will be fear itself..

Slow Missiles- creates a dark energy field that surrounds the target and severely slows down any projectiles that pass through it.

"Electric Storm" - When used on enemy in sight, he finds himself surrounded by a mysterious coming from nowhere mist, that disables any electronic device in the effected area. Making the enemy's shields and weapons useless for a duration, with the possibility to move from the mist and wait for the weapon/shield to recharge.

boil gives power to turn soilds to liquid and liquids to gases . so u could boil someones blood and kill them ro if standing above a steel drum u could melt it so it pour on enemy encasing them for ever:0unlimit possiblityes

Unity Reversal - This biotic power begins with the Asari-like ability to make mental connections, but at at deeper levels and from greater distances. The wielder is able to detect the workings of minds or microprocessors within an area and make a union of thought, thinking simultaneously with the affected individuals, thus anticipating tactics. As skill with the power grows, the wield can make a union of action. Control of targeted bodies is possible, but requires absence of action in one's own body.

However, a union involves at least two minds sharing with each other. With a unity of thought, the targeted mind also thinks simultaneously with the wielder as well. With unity of action, the targeted individual may find himself controlling the wielder's body, with the option of remaining in control or attempting to return to his own body.

Care must be taken to make best use of the ability. Such use includes quick actions or glimpses on the part of the wielder. One second is not enough time for a target to realize he is in control of his foe's body and vice versa. But it is enough for the caster to move his foe's body to an exposed position before breaking the connection and returning to his own body.
