Give it to me and I'll fit in a lovely quad-core next to it
Or else I'll just have to go dual and you would make me cheat on Zotac with a Palit 9600....
Don't stand in the way of true love! It has been written in the stars that only a pure heart may recieve it!Let me be with my very own Zotac

It's a deal, I promise that it would be just for a couple days....

Why do I need the card? I don't - but my computer does and as I'm a man of my word I'll let her have it if I win! I'm generous like that

Please give me this Zotac 9800GTX so I can lock it in my safety deposit box so no one can ever lay their grubby hands on it again.

You should give the card to me so I can take pictures and post them in a thread and make everyone else jealous.. Then they'll say stupid things in the thread about how the contest was fixed, etc, and Zardon can ban them and close the thread- and that will make his day! LOL..

"Do the homework, save the world." This is why I deserve to win.
I've read about the first 15 pages of replies and they mostly range from because I said so to watching awesome high-def porn, to becoming "elite" in games, to having the best graphics, to being able to play current/new games by building a new comp, and so on. But no one really said anything about what contribution to society they could do with a $300+ (according to newegg) card. They all talk about for some personal gain or for some personal pleasure. (This is not to say that I won't be doing anything of the sort mentioned above, because I will...however...).
This card is going to be given to you, free of charge, shipping is probably free too (if not, I'm sure one could find some way of coughing up 5-10 bucks by selling sperm, selling plasma, rendering "services" ). The least one could talk about is giving back to the community in some way.
And so, with this card, (and the new computer) with this awesome new horsepower for graphical computing, I will use it for school/nerdy programs. I'm studying to become a nuclear/mechanical engineer and with this major comes with obstacles of being limited to the "# of sheets" when using CAD programs. Having such an awesome card will allow more "sheets" and thus allow more complexity in models/processes/etc. My friend, also studying to become a nuclear engineer, have vowed that one day we'll find a method to achieve nuclear fusion and keep it under control (think of Spiderman 2 the movie minus Doc Ock drowning with the mini-sun (since in reality it'd actually kill us all by continuing to grow)). With energy problems in today's day and age, it's really a big concern (*cough* gas, CO2 emissions *cough*). (Yes, I know that Quadro and FireGL are designed specifically for those commercial applications)
The second contribution to society, since not many people can afford to pay $300 for high-end cards (otherwise girlfriends and wives would kill us alike, or we'd starve and live in a box for a month) is simulation of fluid flow and its thermodynamic properties. Fluid flow? One might ask what does this have to do with society. Fluid flow is extremely important and is a class that I'll be taking in the near future. Because of the movement of fluids through a coal power plant, a nuclear power plant, movement of air even, deals with the efficiency of the processes involved to create power.
There's so much to do with a $300 card besides for one's personal gain (and again it's not like I won't be doing the things everyone else has said in this form, because I will), but there's so much you can do to help back if you're given this card from the community. Give something back. You owe them as much as they owe you.
This is why I deserve to win. I do the homework to save the world.

Ok I promise to lend it to Jimmy until he finishes his major too!
But Jimmy boy, don't make it Nagasaki part II or I'll personally kick your ass!
However I like the perspective of atomic barbecue like:
"Hey [insert girlfriends name here]! Can you pass over that nuke? It's the one under the kitchen sink. Hurry up the steak is getting cold!"
Jimmy some of us ARE doing work for their community, but you can PM me for the details.

I would like to win this card... because I've met with people from Zotac this year on Cebit and they are really nice and fun to be with.
When I've spoke to them they told me that in Europe that have an office in Poland..
I must say that I was impressed with them.
And recently they've extend warranty here in Europe from 2 to 5 years!! Which means a lot for us Europeans.
Hope to win this card, so I can have fun with it..

Please give me this card so I can close a circle. The first graphics card I won was a Radeon 9800 Pro. I won it at a shader competition (programmed Frogger using pixel shaders). Now there's another card with 9800 in its name that I can win (for a lot less work), which will be rather nice.
(Though in truth I'm still standing behind my first post, just feeling the itch to contribute some entries. Not that I'd mind winning yet another graphics card.)

I want to recieve The Zotac because I have dedicated the past two months to making the ultimate gaming/programming/video editing machine while managing with a tight budget,
making my veins explode in strains of red across my eyes, praying that, like in B&W, some gigantic Hand-God will descend from the heavens to aid me on my quest!
Winning this card will decide -
-if I'm going quad core or dual,
-if I have to ask my parents for money or not(which is sort of like selling your soul but dieyin and hell don't come in the same order),
-if I'm going to get the new system in may or in june,
-if getting my drivers' licence(A&B) is going to be the only highlight of may
-if spamming this thread was a bad idea(but I do promise to reduce my posts during upcoming competitions, as I have been omnipresent on each page of the thread since I registered an account )
-if spamming even further would have been a better solution
-if I'm going to have to buy glasses for you guys for making you read my numerous and ridiculously large posts
This is my last post on this thread. It has been a fun experience and I hope you haven't fallen asleep yet.
I'll tune in for support on over clocking it later on.I NEVER waste presents.
Cheers!

If I win this graphics card I will definitely be using it with the upcoming Nvidia GPU folding client. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the ATI GPU client.
