Last night I had a nightmare. A nightmare in wich I tried to play Dead Space. The objetive was to keep FPS above 10. Impossible. It was so slow to play that I could fire my weapon, keep walking, and get hit by my own bullet. Seriously, it happens like... you fire... you hear the sound... and congrats! You shoot yourself! So I died with the message: "The way it's meant to be killed".

I finally woke up...

Visiting Driver Heaven I came to this opportunity of winning the solution of my nightmares and having my dreams come true. With this card I'll be able to: shoot my enemies and not myself; play above 100 instead of 10 FPS; have fun like I never had!

Hey guys, this is my last entry.


Today I lost around £120. It was on a paypal account that I was going to get verified (I got it when I was young and was going to use it to order desperately needed study materials) but didn't get the chance to.

A couple of days ago I got a worm\trojan, what ever it was, on my PC which more or less STOLE all of my info on sites I use. Before this happened though I tried everything I could think of to get rid myself of it. I had thoroughly searched for it to no avail. All my paypal stuff is lost which means I am buggered.

a very important value to me becouse i put so much time
on my daily dutys and it that could help me great way.

As this picture reveals,my card blew on me last week and unfortunately i can only buy those 40-50'ish $$$ cards which sucks for me because i was just starting a project on crysis and now i can't even play any game on my PC (except for solitaire), before i could purchase a temporary card and wait another year to buy a decent gpu, i thought to myself maybe i should give this another shot before buying and try this instead ,and this card can play any game at acceptable frames and quality that a 50$ card couldn't, and maybe if I ever win this i could save the money to buy me a decent yamaha for school so this is very helpful. I know their are others who need this card as much as I do by reading the other posts, but if I were to be chosen for this card I am very thankful and in heavy debt.

I really need this video card for one simply reason. I am stuck on AGP! A 7800GS to be exact. Also on Socket 939 (abandoned by AMD ), and DDR memory. So, I can't upgrade anything until I upgrade everything. I can afford a good new M/B, CPU, RAM and power supply, but not a video card on top of all that.

Well lets just say every one needs a new graphic card or at least want, But who is the person that could be considered at being the winner.
I'll just say that it could probbobly be anyone currently posted, for that
many people that have spent so much time posting the ressons with many combonations of stories, well here is my.

my greates need for this graphic card is definally for the prpose of
self intertaiment and to get away from the trouble that life currently offers to many of us. I think when I am in the position of being made fun of or got in the biggest trouble ever, I get so frustrated with everything, not just that one thing thats the couse but nearly everything !.

About a couple of weeks ago some one started a rumor that I smoke, in which it was totally not true. Well I was frustrated with everyone asking me about it; that I ran away from school. Now with the trouble with my parents piled on top of school I could not stand being around people.

So the problem was my parents were not big computer users so they never got it upgraded since I first bought it. When I could get on computer and do probbobly my favorite things, Ectreamely fun games that could take me away from all that stuff. Well I could never get to do that like I sayed computer is so horrible. The cool thing is that all those holidays coming up and my birthday I made a plan with my parents that they would buy me a motherboard, I was exited to hear that, but the problem was not the motherboard it was the graphics.

Another thing that made me kind of mad is that my friends had really
cool computer the alienware one of my friends got for his birthday.
well we started to play an online games like the bf2 like said before.
My thought was my parents didn't care about me so they would never
buy me such thing even tho they had the money. I saved money for about a month and what they did is they made a big deal about putting it for my college savins.So I never could save money for my personal needs. Becouse I was adopted it made sence that they didnt really care about me as much as my other step brother. And at one time my dad actually did sayed that he was going to send me back, wich made me so afraide and I could do nothing to keep my self from not thinking about all that.

Now im really into games and I alwase wanted to build my own gaming computer of my need so I can actualy have somthing to do and get away from social problem. it was a mess for a long time and still going on

I really need this graphic card becouse: it would fit with my current motherboard plan, I like ATI. well the thing i found out is that if i buy nvidia prossesor and a totally new motherbaord that is much more expensive than the amd and 4870 x2 graphic card and it will be a really good for gaming.

I really need this to get away from my problem and could reduce me geting in fights with my parents becouse I have somthing to be very
impressed with and try to alwase improve. so please read my other posts
maybe i can actually survive till im 19, becouse they are going to kick me out.

just to let you know im from russia so i had to catch up with english and a faster computer would be a great help. since I got some aplications that wont open.

Ever since I was young, I've always wanted to be something. You know, someone important, like a superhero (who didn't?). Someone that can do some good in the world.

Funny how even today that dream has never left me. Maybe not so much as to be a superhero, but at least make an impact in the world. It's unfortunate that my life isn't going the way I planned it to be, otherwise I might be. If I had the 4870x2 I could at least play games with such realism that it would seem like I actually am an important character making a difference in the world.

And at night, I can sleep easy knowing that I'm actually making a difference in the world. With both cores still at work folding I'd be helping to combat villains of the real world: disease such as Alzheimer's. And when that day comes where the diseases have finally been dealt with, I can say with confidence that I've put the 4870x2 to good use, and that I've helped make a real difference in the world.

I need this 4870X2 because I'm an unemployed, 21-Year old virgin who still lives with his mother and his "biggest douche in the universe" older brother (who happens to be a 31-Year old man-child that is scared to live on his own). Playing games allows me to vent the frustrations of my as of the moment failed life by shooting virtual people in the face. If I could do it at smooth frame rates and high resolution maybe I could get out of my depression and get motivated to find myself a woman.

So, the story begins 2 years ago.. It was a hot summer day when a young boy (that's me) exits the PC store holding an Aserock939-SLI32 (that would be my mainboard) under his arm. You could see tears of joy in his eyes, he was finally upgrading it's computer.
1 year later...:
Finally, a brand new very expensive nvidia 7900 was installed in the PC. You could see (again) tears of joy in the little boy's eyes.
1 month ago...:
YEEES, I FINALLY HAVE A SECOND (HAND) 7900 TO INSTALL IN MY COMPUTER!!I will finally see my SLI board working at full capacity!
1 day, 3 hours, 45 minutes and 12 seconds later (without sleep):
NOOOOOOO, buhuhuuuuuu!!! why meee, why meeee! (you could see tears in his eyes but not of joy this time).
...what happened? it's very simple: the boy forgot that Nvidia it's a big corporatist firm that don't care much about the customer and when threatened they just kill (physically) the competition.
To be short: nvidia had disabled the SLi feature in their software drivers for the Uli chip (that would be on my board- some luck huh?!?) and the young boy (that's me) was so stupid (yes yes, me again) not to check that before buying the second graphic board.
So, what should the boy do now? money spent on old boards, (nvidia forced-ware) incompatibility issues...
Oh, I found the solution: I give you my 2 7900 nvidia board to give as contest reward and I pray to win an ATI 4870X2. Maybe it will work... Pleeeease!
(no, this time no tears. I'm a big boy now).

Good God where to start?! It is the last day of this competition, and thank God I made it back in time to enter. You see a few weeks ago I was...this is very hard for me to talk about so bare with me...I was "taken".. it so hard to type through my tears...I know its hard to believe. I mean, I didn't believe in these type of things happening. Sure I had seen movies about it, and heard the stories, but it was always something that happened to other people. You know the kind of people I am taking about. Anyway I was walking home. It was late at night, and I saw this bright light. Like two car headlights with the high beams on. It was hypnotic. It was fightening. It was a 2008 BMW. It stopped in front of me. Three stunningly beautiful woman inside jumped out, and grabbed me, and throw me in the back seat...God this is so hard(the story). At first I thought it was some sort of joke or at the very least a thrill kill cult training excercise. But NO! It wasn't! What they did to me..Horrible, and yet...No! it was horrible. I had no idea such things where possible(thank God I know now...baby). For weeks they held me against me will. Doing things to me that would make any man give his last dime to have done to him. Several times they tried to throw me out, and each time I run back. It was horrible!! Eventually the woman decided it was no longer worth it, and called the police. Turning themselfs in. The Horror!!!! So I was freed. Free to go back to wondering the streets late at night. I know deep down inside that it wont happen again. The one shimming glimming aspect to this are the photo's, the videos, but I dont have a good Video/Graphics card. So I cant watch the movies that they made of my "captivity", and therefor can't share them with the judges. I of course would be more then happy to send them to you(with me blacked out of course) if I where to win. Think of all I lost, Think of the misery that will be the rest of my life, think of the childern.

I spent many years in a place called Nvidia and had many relationships there. One named Geforce2, another named Geforce4, and then my beloved Geforce6. But alas, none of them had the same wants and desires I had. They told me that they'd be there for me when I went off to fight in a tournament called Unreal, or when I spent years trying to keep a terrorist group from planting a bomb at site A or B, but I continued to struggle with the lack of support they gave me in my time of need. Each time our relationship was put to the test and it ultimately had to end. They just didn't have the specs I was looking for.

I felt I was destined to be alone and in fear of the MMO challenges I would face in the future. Who would be there for me when I lose frame rate? Who would warm the computer room in the winter?

Those questions tore at my soul for a long time, until one night everything changed and hope was given back to me...

It was a dark rainy night. I was wet, cold, and heartbroken. I was looking for love but I didn't know where to find it. I was wandering along the internet when looked up and saw a warm red glow in the skyline; very unlike the cold green glow of Nvidia. It was a place called ATI and I felt confident I would find what I was looking for there.

I clicked on the link and there she was. She stood out amongst the crowd and I knew she was something special. She was tall and had a long red and black dress on made from the latest materials that provided her with cool comfort. I decided to be bold and ask her name. I knew I shouldn't flirt with those who are out of my budget, but I couldn't help myself. She said her name was 4870 and she was looking for a man with a big enough power supply. Although she was high maintainence and had many requirements, I knew I was destined to be with her. We gazed at each other for hours but I knew I needed enough money up-front to convince her I was in her league. We eventually had to say goodbye, but I told her I would never forget and that I would be back for her.

It's been months since I last saw her and I fear that we may never be together if not for your help. Please give us the opportunity to finally be united.

This isnt a country song so i havent lost my dog, im still with my Girlfriend, and my family is good.

But as stated in my first and only other post, im still using the 9600xt from 5 yrs ago. Because of [COLOR=red]ATI[/COLOR] longevity it still works...no recent games, but who needs to play anything as old as F.E.A.R with anything above minimum.

I always have (for some reason) thought that nVidia was the way to go when it comes to graphics cards. Even though I have never owned one I believed that they provide superior speeds and the best value for money, luckily the Radeon HD 4800 Series has proved me wrong. Now i'm an ATI fan.

The only ATI card I actually have regular contact with is a laptop card: an ATI Mobility Radeon X1300.It is not very fast but its OK and gets the job done (only basic games and tasks.By the way the laptop isn't my computer, it's my friends. I can borrow it sometimes if i'm lucky, the computer I own will be mentioned next.) Trust me my friends laptop may be slow, but its heaven compared to my PC. I am considering upgrading my 5 year old Acer Aspire in the near future. It consists of 504MB DDR SD ram (you heard right *DDR* Ram and don't ask me why it's 504MB-Not sure to be honest but the extra 4MB really makes a difference...maybe not), a Pentium 4 Processor and 8mb SIS Integrated Graphics with a 15" LCD Monitor.And only a few days ago I was shocked to find out it had a Micro-ATX motherboard and a 5200RPM Seagate 80GB HDD with a 1MB Cache!
... So no upgrades for poor me.

I thought those components were only for small form factor PC's or Laptops!, come on DH, have you ever heard of a Full size ATX PC with a 5200RPM HDD and a Micro-ATX MoBo - and it cost over $3000NZ (I can't believe I purchased that PC!). I urge you to check my System Specs for more details - it's an Acer Aspire T300! [COLOR=Red]Look at them, I dare you! You'll be horrified. [/COLOR](I bet you're laughing at me by this stage)

This time I'm going to go custom - I'm never going to buy a prebuilt PC again, but I'm very short on cash.
For this purpose I have made a spreadsheet listing the components I wish to purchase. In the earliest version of this sheet my card of choice was an ATI 3870X2, which is now very weak when compared to a 4850 or 4870.In the latest revision I have included a Palit Sonic HD 4870 which I think will be the best for me moneywise because it basically shadows the 4870X2's performance at lower resolutions. But i've read that a 4870X2 gives a 10-20% boost in framerates if you use a monitor in the late 20"s or higher.If I do win i'll do everything I can to get a monitor that big.

If I purchase a 4870 now, i'll be using a card which is near the top of the food chain.Next year if I upgrade again next year when the R800 GPU's are released i'll probably end up buying a card equivalent to the 4870 in that series.If this vicious cycle continues I may never experience the top-tier experience ATI has to offer.So please help me break free! (8MB integrated graphics depresses me. I bet you guys couldn't survive...I wonder how I manage)

In NZ the NZ Dollar is very low against the US Dollar, increasing hardware prices everyday, making it increasingly harder for me to get an ATI card at all! ($1NZ = $0.56US at the time of writing)

The last thing I have to say is even though [COLOR=Red]I love ATI[/COLOR], I might have to buy an nVidia card, because of their cheaper prices.
