5950 v 9800 xt

Call of Duty was again benchmarked using Fraps, we played through a level of the game with all in game details set to maximum.
For the first time in our review the FX is the clear leader over the XT. The FX obtains a higher maximum FPS as well as a higher average FPS at both resolutions. Both cards did score low on the minimum FPS, the FX coming of worse however these dips were only at one particular point in the level (a large explosion) we used and did not impact the gameplay as such.

Our Halo benchmark used Fraps to record the result, the setting of 1024x768 and no AA/AF was used because, to be honest, Halo is not a good performer on most systems above these settings. As you can see both cards were equally matched in minimum and maximum FPS, the Radeon just edges it on average FPS.
