Conclusion:

So what have we learned from the testing? Well for one we now know the P4 extreme edition LGA775 chip combined with the Intel D925XCV motherboard makes for a stunning system base. Memory scores are exceptionally high with the DDR2 and overall system performance is lightining. "Real world" performance in windows and applications like Photoshop is the highest ive seen and this is going to make a wonderful rock solid system for testing our future PCI Express products. The upcoming months are going to be particularly interesting when makers like ABIT start releasing enthusiast boards with massive overclocking potential based on this 925x chipset.

The X600XT is a good solid all round performer with ATIs wonderful reputation for Image Quality being vastly apparent when gaming. For a mid range card it is quite comfortable running todays games at 1024x768 with some AA and AF enabled however as would be expected it tends to run out of steam a little at 1280x1024 especially if you like to game with all the eye candy turned on. Pricing at the minute hasnt been settled upon but from what I hear it is expected to sell in the 180 euros range. Overclocking the X600XT proved to be very successful enabling the card to be used with higher eye candy settings with acceptable frame rates.

I look forward to testing the high end PCI Express boards over the coming weeks, then we can see what this P4 Extreme Edition PCI Express system can really pump out.

The X600XT wins the silver award

The Intel Extreme Edition 3.4ghz CPU and Intel D925XCV motherboard wins the gold award
