Conclusion

It is clear from the connectivity options that when designing the VP2330wb ViewSonic set out to make a great PC display rather than a multi-purpose unit, this is a little disappointing as products such as the Dell 2405 offer a myriad of connectivity for all purposes. Whilst the price of the unit is higher than many competitors products the excellent warranty options and inclusion of HDCP support go some way to justifying the outlay.

The most important aspect of this product is the screen and it is in this area that the VP2330wb excels. This model sports a 23” panel with a native resolution of 1920x1200. For those moving from a smaller screen the extra pixels and real estate really do make a difference and you will find yourself wondering how you ever coped with a resolution of 1024x768 or even 1280x1024. The technical specifications of the screen are that it features an 8ms grey to grey response time, 250-nit brightness (typ), 800:1 contrast ratio (typ) and .258mm pixel pitch. There are screens available for a similar price to the ViewSonic which feature slightly higher quoted specifications, however we feel that in many instances these figures are inflated to shift units. Viewsonic are quoting accurate figures and should be applauded for doing so.

High Definition video content is also rendered in crystal clear quality with natural flesh tones and vibrant colours.
