The Kingston Media Reader (19 in 1) supports a far wider selection of flash memory devices than we have tested but the result trends for each of the tested cards should carry across to other formats. In write tests the unit compared favourably to a generic unbranded reader with strong performance on each type of card, this performance continued on CompactFlash read test where the Kingston product was over two megabytes per second faster than the generic reader. The most impressive result occurred in the Secure Digital read test where the Kingston reader was twice as fast as our unbranded product, reaching a speed of 10.67mb/s which equates to 72x – almost the limit of our test card. This is an extremely impressive result.

The Kingston Media Reader is small, compact and very fast. In addition to this it performed flawlessly during our testing. If data transfer speeds are important there is no reason to buy anything else.
