Overclocking
EQS:
As noted in the BIOS section of this review there are a number of options for overclocking in the EQS bios. Using these we were able to experiment with the boards overclocking potential, the results we achieved were not great with only a 40 MHz increase in HTT however it did take the CPU speed from 2800 MHz to 3360 MHz.
Abit:
Abit’s board, despite not having as much configuration of the HTT speed has far better voltage configuration options when compared to the EQS board and using these options we were able to increase our CPU speed from 2800MHz to 3640 (260HTT, 1.65v). This is pretty much the limit of our FX-62 processor and a good achievement for the AN-M2HD.
Overall it is clear to see that for overclocking the Abit board has the best potential, it is also important that there are more fan headers on the AN-M2HD board to allow better control of the case environment in conjunction with the higher voltages available to Abit users.
