XFX 8800GTS (XXX):

The Geforce 8800 GTS 320Mb XXX edition is XFX’s top of the range 320Mb model and like the BFG card has enhanced speeds out of the box which is very familiar in design to other XFX packaging. Inside the box we find some useful documentation and cables as expected however there is the added bonus of the full version of Ghost Recon. A visually impressive title it is a good choice for a bundled software title to show the power of the hardware.

The XXX edition (despite its enhanced specifications) follows the reference design in all but the heat sink sticker design. A single 6 pin power connector is required as with all of the 8800 GTS series and the card offers dual link DVI outs which are HDCP enabled. Under the heat sink we have the G80 core with the standard GTS 96 stream processors which are, like BFG’s overclocked to 1300 MHz. Where the XFX card differs is in the core and memory clocks. Here we have a core speed of 580 MHz (the highest we have seen on a GTS) and memory speeds of 1800 MHz, 200 MHz above the reference design.
