BFG
8800GTS (OC):
BFG’s
8800GTS OC (320Mb) comes in a stylish box, however
it’s not all style over substance as a number
of the cards features are listed on the front
of the box such as the amount of memory and the
various forms of output provided. Also on the
packaging is a very useful section which explains
to the less technical end user what type of bus
the card runs on. BFG’s bundle isn’t
the greatest we’ve ever seen however the
essential cables are provided and there is a plentiful
level of documentation to assist with installing
and setting up the card.
Shown
below is the card itself, the design used on the
packaging is continued on the heat sink, albeit
in a different colour scheme. There is also a
sticker on the cards fan which identifies this
as the overclocked version of the card. The clock
rates used on this particular model are 550 MHz
core, 1300 MHz stream processor and 1600 MHz memory.
Interestingly the core and stream clocks are above
the reference design of 500/1200 however the memory
clock remains at the reference level, very strange
considering the card is an overclocked version.
Other
than the core and stream processor clocks being
above the normal specification the card follows
the reference design to the letter. SLI is supported
as is HDTV out, HDCP and dual link DVI.
