HIS HD2600XT iSilenceIII
We are all fans of over the top cover designs here at DH, but more often than not a minimalistic package will make an even bigger impression. The HIS HD2600XT Zalman edition is a perfect example of this. All the required information is printed on the box, leaving little to no questions to be asked. Inside you can find the standard driver CD, a manual, TV-Out cables, a DVI-to-VGA adapter, the Valve promotion flyer and most importantly, a DVI-to-HDMI adapter.
As the name of the card implies, HIS use one of Zalman’s passive coolers on this HD2600XT. The result is a card that looks good, is noiseless and takes up only a single slot (not counting the few millimeters on the back). As a result of this quality cooler, the GPU is still running at the stock 800MHz, and even the memory wasn’t downclocked with all the coolers installed on it – it is ticking over at a steady 700/1400MHz.
No surprises on the front of the card – there are two Dual-DVI connectors, as well as the standard HD TV-Out plug. As with most HD2600 cards in the market one of the DVI connectors is capable of streaming video as well as audio via the included HDMI dongle.
