In the front, the P150 has room for dual 92mm fans (not supplied with the case) for air intake. That is covered with a removable and washable filter, to keep your beloved components clean from dust, and other unwanted particles.

To gain access to the hard drive compartment you have to force another door, but luckily that is very easily done. Just release another thumbscrew and the door swings open.

Just like the front door the little HDD door can be easily removed, just lift it off its hinges..

1

The P150 has room for four hard drives in the lower compartment, and (as with the P160 and P180) they can be mounted on the silicon rubber damped trays that are easily removed by squeezing the rails together and sliding them out.

After we removed a couple of the HDD trays we noticed something unusual, Antec has given the option to let the HDDs to be mounted using rubber bands allowing  them to hang freely in the air …. by doing this the vibrations of the drives will be minimized. This way of mounting the Hard disk drives is however not recommended if you are planning to move your case on a regular basis, since they didn’t feel very secure at all in this position.

The PSU:

With the Antec P150 you also get a very decent looking Power Supply Unit from their newest series of PSUs, the NEO HE 430W. In the past we have separately reviewed its big brother the NEO HE 550W and were very pleased with how it performed.
In this picture you see the specifications label of the NEO HE 430W. As you can see it has three 12 volt rails with 16A on each, and manages to pump 430W continuously at 50°C.

In this picture you see the PSU taken out of the case.

1

The NEO HE 430W uses a low speed 80mm fan to keep it cool and quiet.

1

On the back the modular connectors and that the PSU has a meshed grill to let the hot air exhaust.

1

We opened the PSU up to see how well arranged the cables where and what kind of cooling was used in it. And as you can see you can’t complain about the cable routing and the two big aluminium heat sinks seems sufficient to keep it cool under operations. Opening the PSU isn’t recommended by Driver Heaven as you will not only void your warranty you’re also risking getting a shock if it has been plugged in prior to opening it.

The Antec NEO HE uses an 80mm ADDA fan, a brand known for its quiet fans.

And a couple more shots of the internals of the PSU.

We will let you know how the PSU performs, but first we have to mount some hardware into the P150.

Installation:

Now it’s time to mount some hardware into the P150, first we made sure that the brass standoffs where in the right position.

1

Then the motherboard was lined up with the brass standoffs, and they matched perfectly (to our delight.)

1 1

We chose to use the “regular” trays for the Hard disk Drives.

1

Here you see the whole system assembled, not much time at all was dedicated to cable routing and as you can see it looks pretty neat.

1

A little detail with the P150 that we found pretty useful was the little compartment on the left side of the case; it comes in handy when you want to tuck some excessive cables away.
