PCMark 2002 was released a couple of years ago by Madonion (now Futuremark) the makers of 3DMark. It allows users to benchmark their Hard Drive, Memory and Processor under a variety of tests which are designed to show how the system will perform in home and office tasks.
Some excellent results
from the Alienware, despite the single channel memory the scores are
high for single channel. The newer hard drive architecture which uses
an 8mb cache shows a good improvement over the desktop model without
the cache and finally despite the same CPU speed the alienware cpu
scores almost 100 points more, showing some benefits that the SIS
chipset gives to the P4 architecture.
Next: Aquamark 3
