The Software

As far as Windows is concerned, the AGEIA PhysX card is just another PCI device. Getting it to work is a matter of installing the driver, after which a new tab appears in the Device Manager. Following the driver install the PhysX control panel can be found via a link in Windows Control Panel.

The control panel allows users to check the driver version installed and the resulting PhysX engines supported, reset the card (troubleshooting measure) and run diagnostics on it to see if any of the chip tests fail. A demo tab is also present, letting users run a series of physics related demos, such as cloth and liquid simulations. They all have very rudimentary graphics, but can be impressive nonetheless. Finally a system tray icon for the control panel can be enabled should you want it.
