The Packaging

The XCLIO 6030 Plus! was delivered to the door in its original box wrapped in bubble wrap:

The case itself was well protected within Styrofoam packing:

As I removed the case from the packing, I realized that I wasn’t unpacking any ordinary PC Case as the entire side cover of this case is a single gigantic fan much like the Thermaltake Armor Rev2.

My first thought was: If this fan can’t cool the inside of the case, nothing will! We are going to compare this chassis with one I have handy, a XION II. (For more about the XION II, see HERE)

Let’s take a closer look from a few more angles at the Xclio case:

Notice the side venting.  This allows for pass-through airflow from the large fan across several of the interior components.

Here you can see an area of top venting.

In the above photo you can see there’s room for two 80 MM fans.

Now, a closer look at the huge 360 MM Fan:

And, the empty interior:

Notice also in this photo the front side I/O connections for USB and Audio.

And, for now anyway, the hardware package:

I was actually quite disappointed to see that the case was designed for “Tool-less” installations of the HDDs and ODDs but only screws were included to secure the devices.

A Side Note:

I’ve reviewed a few PC cases over the past few months and, to tell the truth, I’ve had a strong urge to put everything back into my own XION II not too long after trying the test cases.  I’ve just been truly impressed with the design and roominess of the XION II.

Now, On with the Show:

At any rate, what we want to do today is to see how well the XCLIO 6030 compares with the XION II when it comes to design and, especially, cooling.
