The internals of the Xternal:

This is the how the unit looks naked, to the left is the pump and reservoir and to the right you see the black ice pro dual with the top fans mounted on it.

The in and outlets with their plastic elbow fittings, the risk of leakage is minimal with these kind of fittings, that said I would have liked to see some hose clamps on them for added security.

Here’s a shot of the wiring for the fans and the LCD display connected to the 12V Xtreme Pump unit.

The reservoir to the pump with its acrylic window; it’s a nice feature because it makes it easier to check the water level of the system. If Asetek had just managed to work some kind of light diode to illuminate the liquid, that would have been the finishing touch !

The 12V Xtreme pump unit also has two thermal diodes attached to it, one of them is fastened to a copper pipe attached to the “push” side of the pump reading the water temp supplied to the blocks.

The second diode is attached on top of the radiator reading the temperature of the air pushed through it, and to some extent the temperature of the radiator itself.

In this picture you see LCD display unhooked from the Xternal unit, I can’t wait to hook it up and see it in action!
