Packaging and bundle
The two units share a similar cubic packaging which is black for the 800W unit and red for the 1kW unit. The design of the package is simple, but it offers very effective protection to the unit inside which is trapped between two thick Styrofoam pieces. While the units are heavy, it seems next to impossible to damage them during transportation with so much Styrofoam around them.

Each PSU is supplied with a box full of cables and an easy to read manual. Both units have the same number of cables and connectors. In order to increase the versatility of the X3, Ultra have included cables with a variable number of connectors on each. You cannot attach them all to the unit, but you can choose the ones that are most suitable for you. All of the cables feature the Flexforce technology, which is actually nothing more than every individual cable of every connector being attached to the one next to it, creating a single cable per connector rather than a "bunch". All of the cables and connectors are black. The number of the cables you will find in the package can be seen in the table below:
