Packaging and Bundle

The packaging of the X-Connect VS 700W unit is visually appealing, but feels inadequate. The unit itself is set inside, merely wrapped in a nylon bag. The shipping of the unit could be a problem, since rough handling during transportation can easily damage the unit. Damaging a power supply unit to an inoperable state is very hard because its chassis is made of metal, but a lot of deep scratches could be found on our review unit. Ultra really do need to sort this out.

The X-Connect VS 700W is a modular unit, all but the ATX and 12V power cables are detachable, so you can use whichever you need. There are two PCI-E cables, for SLI and Crossfire systems. You can also add up to eight 4-pin Molex connectors, 1 floppy connector and four SATA connectors. All of the cables and connectors are black. Our only concern is that the 3.3V line is missing from the SATA connector.
