Let’s
look at some of the features that the Thermaltake
Kandalf VA9000SWA Chassis brings to the table.
The removable
hard drive cage at the rear of the case is really
an invaluable feature with a 90mm exhaust fan at the
back of the drive cage. By simply removing the huge
thumb screw on the cage, and depressing the aluminum
latch at the top, it slides right out towards the
user.
Above you see the actual HDD
cage with the huge thumb screw. It is quite easy to
remove and install the hard drives of your choice.
Below you can see an Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB
HD mounted at the rear of the cage, and you can see
the 12cm exhaust fan.
Above is depicted the aforementioned
12cm fan that serves as the exhaust fan for the removeable
HDD cage. Below is a drive mounted in the tray.
On to the Dual
USB 2.0, IEEE 1394 Firewire, Audio & Speaker ports
for added functionality at the top of the Super Tower
case, plus increased ventilation as a result of the
engineering design. Here are a few photos below that
will help describe these functionalities.
The above picture was taken
from above the case looking down at the top mounted
ports. Note the spring loaded lid is partially popped
open to show the plastic latch and spring loading
mechanism.
Finally this
last picture above, shows the underside of the top
ports and how Thermaltake smartly engineered the ports
with a 62% opening ratio to allow hot air to escape
the case around the port housing. If you look really
closely at this picture above, you will see the mounts
for a 90mm exhaust fan that Thermaltake provides with
the Kandalf chassis.
Last we will
see how the hard drive cage exhaust fan provided by
Thermaltake with the Kandalf chassis, appears at the
rear of the case.
