Final words and conclusion

The SteelKeys 6G is a very interesting keyboard and it will make an excellent choice for many gamers. Additionally the response is very quick, it is amazingly durable and it also comes with a second keyset. It is also comfortable to use for prolonged periods of time, something which we didn’t expect from a keyboard with such tall keys and strong return strength. Still, it is not suitable for office use as it won’t be as comfortable as an x-type keyboard, plus it will probably reduce your typing speed. Hence, it will be a perfect keyboard for the MMORPG and the RTS fanatic but it is not meant for an average user. Unfortunately the price of the SteelKeys 6G keyboard is high; it costs consideraby more than most keyboards which are already considered expensive today.

Each of the three headsets from SteelSeries is excellent for their specific market. The 3H provides great sound quality and maximum portability, the 4H has top quality in-game sound performance for professional gamers and the 5H v2 retains the performance of the 4H and combines it with a more durable and detailed design which also allows it to be dismantled for transportation.

By now you would assume they would cost a fortune. We cannot claim that they are cheap, but they are not as expensive as some headphones in their specific sector. While we were trying to compare any common headset to the SteelSound headsets, we couldn’t find one that could compete with their sound clarity and quality, particulary while listening to music and playing movies. Even the cheapest 3H headset sounded better than every one of the >40€ headphones we tested against them. Perhaps a set of Sennheisers would be a better match for the SteelSound series, but Sennheisers can be expensive and are not made specifically for computer gaming.

Taking the above into consideration, we believe that the SteelSound series is worthy of our DriverHeaven shortlist award.
