SteelSeries QcK Heavy

The QcK series of mouse pads are probably the simplest mouse pads SteelSeries currently offer. All QcK mouse pads are made of cloth and differ only in thickness and size. We received the largest and thickest of the series, the QcK Heavy. This monstrous mouse pad is 450mm x 400mm (17,7 x 15,7 in) and 0,6mm (0,23in) thick. It comes in a plastic tube packaging, common for mouse pads of that size. As a cloth mouse pad is extremely hard to damage during transport, the packaging is more than adequate for the job.

The gigantic size of the QcK Heavy will mean you won’t ever run out of surface; as long as there is enough room on your desk for it to begin with! The QcK Heavy is also very thick, 3-4 times thicker than a normal mouse pad, which will even out small surface anomalies for perfect precision. It is made out of cloth and rubber, which makes it soft and comfortable; however the surface is exceptionally smooth and the friction is as limited as it could be on a cloth mouse pad. The large size and weight of the QcK Heavy also prevents the mouse pad from slipping on a desk, we doubt that it would even move a single millimeter after hours of use.

There is however a downside, because of the material the mouse pad may be very comfortable, durable and precise, but it also soaks up liquids extremely quickly much like a sponge. We only tried spilling water on it, which it soaked up in seconds. It was perfectly fine after we left it to dry, however liquids which leave any sugar or fat residue (coffee, juices, milk, etc) will damage the material. It should be washable, however we doubt it would ever return to its initial perfect form.
