In the centre of the system is the socket 939 CPU, this
is cooled by Shuttle's custom design cooler which uses
heat pipe technology to keep even the fastest CPU’s
cool whilst maintaining low noise.
Here you can see the heat sink connected
to the cpu block by heat pipes.

A 80mm fan bracket fits over the heat
sink grills…
And the unit is attached to the CPU slot bracket by a
push clip.

No tools are required for the push clip
and it is a very easy retention system to use, even easier
than stock AMD heat sink/fan clips.
On the base of the CPU block the material
is copper and as expected in a high quality system the
copper is very smooth/polished.

Setup
Because of intelligent layout of the system there were
no problems in setting up the system. The removable drive
bracket makes life a lot easier and in no time you will
have the system up and running. The only additional concerns
we had were that the ribbon cable connecting the front
panel to the motherboard was slightly loose on our review
model and had to be tightened and there were a few bios
issues with the shipping bios, these were rectified with
a bios flash from the image on Shuttles website. A few
teething issues really and nothing more than experienced
on most motherboards…infact we’d always recommend
flashing to the latest bios when receiving a new product.
Here are a few pics of the system with
all components installed…
