Conclusion
To say I have been completely impressed by the
Shuttle would be an understatement. All of my initial
concerns mentioned in the review introduction have been
completely resolved and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed
using the system.
Whether using the A64 3200+ or the latest A64 4000+ the
system ran flawlessly and noise levels are always exceptionally
low, even when running CPU intensive tasks. I’ve
been using the system primarily as a media PC and running
heavy encoding sessions whilst still watching TV and the
system didn’t even blink, it ran completely smooth
at all times which is a huge achievement. Additionally
I’ve yet to have a system hang or crash when using
the Shuttle which is great.
As mentioned earlier in the review the installation of
components isn’t an issue and as long as you dont
have some extremely tall memory sticks you’ll fit
most components in without issue. Obviously due to the
design of the system only single slot graphics cards can
be used however we’ve tested the fastest most power
hungry graphics cards we could find (up to and including
a X800XT) of the single slot variety and all ran without
a hitch on the standard 240w Shuttle PSU, proving that
a high quality PSU is what you need rather than
just high wattage.
Add to the above that the system is much quieter than
a normal desktop whilst providing excellent performance
and you really can’t fault the SN95G. A truly excellent
product well worthy of a Driverheaven Gold award.
