Packaging and bundle
PC Power & Cooling are very straightforward with their packaging. The box is plain and simple on the outside but it is also designed as such to allow the shipping of the unit directly, without the need for extra packaging. The unit inside the box is well secured by thick cardboard pieces and bubble bags can be found against all sides. It is unlikely for the unit to receive one scratch while packed like this during transport. Inside the box you will not find much of a bundle, just a small manual and a few screws. A PSU doesn’t require much of a bundle anyway, but PC Power & Cooling offer several optional items in their website as extras. The most important of them is the two page test report, which only costs 20$ and will have your unit hand-tested by the company staff on a top-of-the-class PSU tester and will let you know the exact performance data of the unit you just bought, such as the voltage rail readings, efficiency, ripple and much more.
The Unit
The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W unit is available in a few versions and we received the black unit. It can also be found in red (crossfire edition) and copper color. The all black matte painting of the unit is very good, but not reflective, allowing the unit to remain simple and aesthetically match the inside of most computer systems. The sticker with the unit’s specifications is placed at the top side, which is a good thing for those people who have windowed side panels. A small Nvidia SLI certification sticker can be found at the left side. The Silencer is not a modular unit, matter of fact PC Power & Cooling have never produced a modular unit and they strongly advise against them!

The unit is cooled by a single 80mm fan placed at the rear. A typical on/off rocker switch can also be found here. The fan draws air in from the front of the unit to cool itself and expels it outside the case. The cables out of the PSU are all sleeved, but for a strange reason the cables with multiple connectors (e.g. SATA, Molex) are sleeved only down to the first connector. A few of the Molex connectors have blue caps for extra security, but not all of them. More can be ordered directly from PC Power & Cooling as accessories.

The interior of the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W unit is certainly the most interesting part of the unit. Most of the unit’s interior is dominated by the very large heatsinks which are placed in line with the airflow of the fan. The air will enter from the front part of the PSU, run through the heatsinks and then will be forced to exit via the fan to the outside of the case. A few small tricks have enhanced the performance of the unit vastly. For example, nothing is placed close to the fan so it is able to draw air freely from all directions, resulting in both better airflow and much lower noise due to minimal turbulence. PC Power & Cooling are using only top-notch components, from the capacitors down to the high quality Adda fan. The design of the unit does not appear to be highly sophisticated, but it certainly looks to be exceptionally rigid and reliable.
