We’ve been using Aquamark 3 in our graphics card reviews for a while now, what we haven’t used in those reviews is the CPU score and so here we have a breakdown of two things. Firstly how well both processors score in the CPU test and secondly how the processors increase or decrease the graphics card performance.

In this heavily graphics based benchmark the Opteron outscores the Athlon XP considerably, despite the Athlons clockspeed advantage. It also manages to get some extra performance out of the FX 5950 Ultra. Both results combined mean that the Opteron gives the Athlon XP a real beating.
