OCZ Reaper X

OCZ package their memory in the standard plastic packet with card insert. The front gives a full view of the modules as well as information on their timings but oddly the tRAS figure is not listed. On the back of the packet we can see some of the heatsink as well as an explanation of how it should work.

The modules are shown above and are clearly quite different to most memory sticks. Running parallel with the main PCB is a set of aluminium fins; these connect with two copper heat pipes which in turn make contact with the memory chips. The main heatsink is black painted aluminium and underneath is two gigabytes of DDR2-800 (PC2-6400). This set of ReaperX is designed to operate at 2.1v with timings of 4-4-3-15, although 2.2v is covered by the OCZ lifetime warranty. Finally, although the modules are SPD programmed to run at 5-6-6-18 if they are installed in a motherboard which supports EPP the advertised timings will be used.
