Conclusion

What we did like:
In the past we have spoken highly of NZXT cases and again, the Rogue is a very well designed chassis. The 3mm thick aluminum and the exotic design alone are enough to make it a favourite choice among enthusiasts. Despite its cubic shape, the thermal performance of the Rogue is top of its field. Matter of fact, it could easily compete again most tower gaming cases ! It is carefully designed in order to fit large components without any problems, even 8800 series video cards and high output PSUs, which are critical for gamers and enthusiasts.

What we would like to see improved:
The top panel. It is out of place with the craftsmanship of the rest of the case. It is much thinner and can vibrate slightly. It appears as if someone designed the Rogue without a top panel, and another person blindly designed and installed a top panel without taking a look at the rest of the chassis beforehand. Beyond that, the size and weight of the Rogue could be a problem. Sure enough, it is light enough for a gaming and/or HTPC system; but NZXT have designed the Rogue primarily as a SFF system. Therefore it is not an ideal system to carry around, even with the provided carrying straps.

Who we would recommend it to:

Recommending this case to someone specifically is difficult, as it is a case which will appeal to few people but from every user group. You may be a hardcore gamer who wants a powerful system to carry to LAN parties or to use in a small environment, an extreme PC modder who is looking for new projects or an HTPC addict who wants a very powerful system in their living room.

In Summary, the build quality of the Rogue is very good, it is very spacious for an SFF case and the thermal performance is extremely good with the form factor in mind. Everything considered this chassis earns our Editor’s Choice Award, as it is one of the best SFF cases money can currently buy.
