Final
words and conclusion
What
we did like:
What
the NZXT Zero can boast about is its build quality;
it is elegant, good looking, durable, lightweight,
spacious and we are happy to say, exceedingly
quiet. It has a very clean minimal look which
will appeal to the enthusiast sector. The little
details easily missed at first glance just enhance
the overall feeling of quality the product exudes.
The smoked window at the front panel, the sideward
placed drive cage and the single connector front
port cables are just some of them. No matter how
much we checked around the chassis, we could not
find a single dent, sharp edge or other manufacturing
glitch.
What
we did not like:
Nothing
is perfect, even the NZXT Zero. To begin with,
the case looks humongous, but while it is very
spacious the design has a certain downside. It
is hard to hide cables inside the case and it
can easily end up looking rather messy. The bank
of 120mm fans give excellent cooling capability
and they are placed in ideal positions however
we feel the additional inclusion of a small 80mm
fan only serves to raise noise levels and can
on occasion block a larger power supply unit.
Thankfully it is easily disconnected.
Who
would we recommend it to:
The
NZXT Zero is a great chassis, with the design
and price tag clearly aiming towards the enthusiast
market. We feel that the elegant design and low
weight will make it popular among the gamers,
both for good looks and easy transportation. Additionally
those people who like an elegant chassis for their
office or main room without pulsing and glowing
lights will find this product appealing.
Considering
the above and the £100 price tag, we believe
that the NZXT Zero is worthy of our Shortlist
Award.
