Asus Maximus Extreme Bios

Asus use AMI BIOS for their Maximus Extreme and it generally follows the reference structure. The interesting section is aptly named “Performance Settings”. In here we find a huge amount of configuration options which are designed to suit novice users as well as high end enthusiasts. For the beginner we have a simple set of options called “Level Up” which apply a reasonable overclock to the chosen setting. Obviously experienced users will be using manual settings. CPU multiplier can be changed to a maximum of 31x, FSB to 3200MHz, PCIe to 180MHz, CPU voltage to 2.4v and memory to 3.04v. Asus also include their simple but excellent Easy Flash 2 in the bios which allows the user to update the bios from floppy, cd/dvd or flash drive in a few easy steps.
