Conclusion

Buying the MX Air for gaming or desktop use exclusively would be a big mistake. While it does a decent job at both there are plenty of cheaper mice out there that do it even better. In a living room or a conference hall the MX Air is unrivaled however.

The intuitiveness of the motion controls makes the learning process extremely short (we needed only a minute or two to become comfortable with the air controls). Because of its design the MX Air not only fits into the living room, but it will probably end up being the sleekest looking device in there, feeling right at home next to other living room high tech gadgets like the PS3 (with which it works out of the box).

Priced at around 80 pounds the MX Air definitely isn’t an impulse buy, though it should be for anyone with a HTPC - just don't buy it as a replacement gaming mouse!
