Introduction

The ever growing gaming market, or “eSports” as some might call it, is generating over 35 billion USD per year. This is in fact the first sentence you will read if you check the gaming products section of GEIL.
GEIL have recently revived their Dragon series which was well known between gamers and enthusiasts in DDR2 form, releasing the Black Dragon line of products. What is interesting about the Black Dragon series are not the extraordinary specifications or the aggressive pricing, but that GEIL also offers them in 4 module (4GB) Quad channel kits. This makes GEIL one of the first manufacturers to sell kits which can populate all of your motherboard’s DIMM banks and raise the total RAM capacity to 8GB. We have such a kit for review today, the GB6400C5QC. Albeit not an 8GB but a 4GB kit, it consists of four DDR2 800MHz 1GB modules and is rated at 5-5-5-15 timings.
