Gaming Tests

If driving games are your thing then CMR2005 is one game you want to look at, running it through our test system at 640x480, low detail allows us to remove all graphics related bottlenecks and see how the CPU affects the performance of the game. In this test the 4000+ is scoring very slightly above the FX-53 however this may be due to a margin of error in real world tests. The FX-55 however is streets ahead of the FX-53/4000+, when things get tough in CMR the FX55 would help out performance by a fair amount over the other two chips.

At 800x600 for this test (lowest res available) we can see the 3 chips perform almost the same, no standout figures from any.

CSS (at 640x480, low detail) shows the performance gap again. The 4000+ and FX-53 are limiting the system to 157fps however the FX-55 scores 7fps more. A healthy difference. This performance gap is something that will benefit FX-55 users when the physics get tough in Half-Life 2.
