Epox provides a very good
bundle with the 9NPA+ Ultra motherboard. To begin
with, you will find two purple IDE cables and
two white SATA cables in the package. Unusual
colour choice by Epox, but the white SATA cables
look great. Unfortunately the floppy disk drive
cable is a typical flat cable instead of a round
one.
There is a typical backplate
bracket and two extension PCI brackets in the
packaging as well. One of the extension brackets
provides two extra USB ports where the other provides
two extra firewire ports. To conclude the standard
bundle there is a nicely written manual and a
quick installation guide, as well as a drivers/software
CD.
That is not all you will
get with the purchase of an Epox 9NPA+ Ultra motherboard
however. Epox include the ‘powerpack’
extras with this motherboard. These include rounded
IDE cables and a package of small heatsinks with
a handy tool. The heatsinks are perfect for installation
on small (hot) components of your choice, such
as VGA RAM chips or the motherboard MOSFETs. There
is a small powerpack manual which helps you to
pick where to install them. The small provided
tool is a modular screwdriver, which looks much
like a pen. It sure isn’t as comfortable
as a 30$ professional screwdriver, but it is small,
lightweight and, most importantly, it gets the
job done.
