Cooltek is a European based brand with various cooling products but with Main focus on power supplies. The products are designed in Scandinavia and Germany and produced in selected factories in China. Here are some words from our Swedish Cooltek representative Jesper Brenner:

“We are dedicated in using high quality components inside our power supplies and only working with manufacturers we know can make products with a high, consistent quality.
We visit all manufacturers’ factories as well, to control their routines and to ensure that the employees have a decent working environment. I'm telling you all this because I would like you to know that we are not just another "re-labelling" brand! Our power supplies may be a little bit more expensive than the competition, but they offer real wattages and stable voltages combined with low-noise, quality (Papst) fans."

Today we are having a look at the Cooltek CT 600 Power Supply Unit.

The Cooltek 600W modular Power Supply Unit comes in sleek looking package with all the information clearly labelled.

As you can see the Cooltek 600 Watt Power supply unit boasts not one, nor two or three 12v rails but a full four 20 Ampere 12v rails, it should be sufficient to power the most demanding system.

I was a bit worried seeing that there was no protection for the unit except the bubble wrap. Let’s hope that the courier hasn’t been inspired by the Football World Cup (soccer to you Yanks) and practised penalty shots with our sample.

In this picture you can see all the cables supplied with the Cooltek PSU, even the ATX connector is modular.

The four pin Molex connectors have “grips” on them for quick and easy assembling, the connectors also has rubber “boots” protecting the wires.

Here you can see both PCI-E connectors, sitting on the same rail; this shouldn’t be a problem even with the more power hungry cards since it has 20A on it.

And a shot of one of the SATA connectors…

Below the 20/24 pin ATX connector, it uses the most common way to switch between 20 and 24 pins, just un-hook the 4 pin connector if needed.

A high quality 120mm Papst fan. Very reassuring.

The Cooltek CT 600 uses a honey comb designed rear, this allows hot air to expel in an efficient manner.

The modular connector layout is very easy to follow; every connector is clearly marked to avoid mishaps.

And here you see the side label where the ratings of the unit are printed, the specifications look very impressive. Let’s start the testing and find out how it performs.
