Installation

The installation of the Arctic Square is not difficult, but it requires time and you will certainly need to remove the motherboard from your case.

First you will have to install the backplate and top retention bracket on the motherboard, which is easy as the backplate sticks in place and the top retention bracket is simply attached with 4 long screws. You need to have your CPU already installed though and you will have to remove the top retention bracket if you need to remove/upgrade your CPU.

Finally you place the cooler on your CPU and secure it in place with the provided clip; which is unfortunately not quite as easy as it sounds since the latch locks on the retention bracket from the inside out. This is quite unorthodox and can be a bit of a pain to get it firmly in place, especially since you cannot use any tools to help you this way.
