Some really close results in PCmark04 (above), other than the Cpu score (where you’d have to do something really intensive) there shouldn’t be any difference in real life performance.

Sandra shows a significant advantage for the AV8, in all tests it’s ahead of the K8T, very impressive. Standout results are the Cpu arith tests where the Abit board is 500 points faster than the K8T.

The large performance difference shown in Sandra isn’t carried over to Colin McRae. Instead in this test the K8T is slightly faster overall.

Our Real world encoding test involves converting a DVD Vob file to Avi format using ImToo DVD. Its a very CPU intensive task and can be quite time consuming, especially if your encoding a full 2hr movie. On our 225mb test file converting to 35mb Avi the boards are very evenly matched with only one second separating them.

Our final test on the AV8 involves running a 40mb image through various filters/effects in Photoshop. Another CPU intensive task where any performance increase is appreciated. At a difference of over 1 second the AV8 is significantly faster and could save Photoshop users a significant amount of time should they do a lot of demanding Photoshop work.

If you wish to test your system with Driverheavens Custom Photoshop bench, you can download and compare here.
