Output
connectivity on the All-In X1800XL comes in the form
of a DVI out and the ATI out. Also alongside these
connectors are the TV and FM in.

As with the
previous few AIW’s the X1800XL comes with the
standard FM cable, svideo/composite/audio domino and
ATI connector which provides Scart and VGA out.

Remote
Wonder Plus:
The next thing
the AIW X1K has in common with the X800 variant is
the use of the remote wonder plus, the latest version
of ATI’s remote. The Remote Wonder plus is one
of the best remotes on the market, it is light and
responsive and in addition to this it is radio
rather than infra red ... therfore meaning it
can be used through walls and over a much larger distance.

Also improved
in the X1800XL bundle is the remote wonder's compatibility
with MCE and the Remote Wonder SDK now allows you
to program all of the buttons on the unit to your
requirements, and there is even a laser pointer mode
for performing presentations with your remote wonder.
Before we go
on to look at MMC 9.10 and what it brings to the suite,
this review will be the first time we’ve looked
at the performance of the standard X1800XL so lets
take a brief moment to look at that card also.
The
X1800XL 256mb
The Radeon
X1800XL 256mb is almost identical to the AIW version
in terms of specification. The card uses the R520
core clocked at 500mhz and there are 16 pipelines
with 8 vertex units. Memory comes in the form of eight
32mb Samsung chips and these are also clocked at 500mhz.
The card uses a single slot cooler and does require
additional power through the PCIE power connector.

Connectivity
- we have 2 DVI outs and a video out (HDTV/ S-Video
and Composite).

Like its bigger
brother the XT, there isn’t much going on when
you look at the rear of the card.
