Radeon 9800 XT

UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003:
First Person Shooters are always used in graphics card reviews and there will be no change here. Until Doom3 and Half-life 2 hit the streets later this year Unreal Tournament 2003’s engine is the most demanding FPS engine out there. That combined with its inbuilt benchmarking utility makes it a great choice to show how the 9800 XT performs in todays games.

The XT again leads the pack in UT 2003, with some crazy +190fps at 1024x768 in flyby. Generally flyby is about 10fps quicker on the XT, a nice increase. In botmatch, the most CPU limited of the two tests, the XT manages to improve the systems scores by up to 4fps over the 9800 Pro and 12fps over the Geforce FX.

Next: Eliteforce 2
