| Radeon 9600 XT |
|
Conclusion: The XT outperforms the Pro model in every test by a reasonable amount. With this performance increase comes the additional feature of overdrive, looking at our overclocking results the potential for further enhanced performance over the Pro card is defiantly there. The 9600XT also features revised cooling which should enhance the cards life over that of an overclocked 9600Pro on stock cooling. Whilst we could not recommend the 9600 XT as an upgrade to anyone owning a 9500Pro/9600 and above Radeon or a 5800 or above Geforce any other consumer should be happy with the performance and additional DirectX9 features should they choose to upgrade. The 9600 XT is a refresh product, a product
designed to replace and improve on the current model offering improved
performance at a similar price point. With these as its objectives the
9600 XT is a success.
