XFX 8800 GT 512MB Alpha Dog Edition

XFX have decided to call their reference 8800 GT the “Alpha Dog Edition”. Quite a bold naming convention for a reference board, but more on that later.

The packaging and bundle follow a trend similar to other XFX cards and also feature information on product specifics such as core speed. Inside the box we find various manuals, cables and discs, a few of these make up the most impressive part of the bundle which is the full version of Company of Heroes and the DirectX 10 patch.

XFX have followed the reference design in every way for the Alpha Dog Edition from the use of Green PCB to the cooling solution, outputs and power requirements. Unlike the Zotac card there is no LED fan and the only other minor difference in looks is the closed end to the cooling solution. Clocks on the XFX card are also reference at 600 core, 900 memory and 1500MHz shader.
