UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003:
First Person Shooters are always used in graphics card reviews and there will be no change here. Until Doom3 and Half-life 2 hit the streets later this year Unreal Tournament 2003’s engine is the most demanding FPS engine out there. That combined with its inbuilt benchmarking utility makes it a great choice to show how the 5900 Ultra performs in today’s games.

As far as fly-by goes the cards almost equal in all tests, excluding 1024x768 0xAA 0xAF where the Radeon has a 14fps lead over the DX. The botmatch results however follow a different trend. As the settings increase the Radeon gains an 8fps lead over the 5900Ultra. Despite coming of second best in this benchmark the FX 5900 Ultra remained completely playable at all resolutions.

Next: Eliteforce 2
