Introduction
If there is one area of the PC component market which is rapidly changing it is SATA storage devices. Since the introduction of SSD’s at an affordable level less than a year ago the frequency of new models with updated capacities and specifications has been very high. This can be demonstrated by the fact that since we published our last roundup a few months back, all of the major manufacturers have released at least one completely new generation of drives, if not more.
Today we have a selection of these drives for review featuring models with various new controllers from Indilinx and Samsung as well as Intel’s award winning X25-M. Just to make things a little more interesting there is even a model which features a customised version of the old JMicron 602 controller.
Which drive has the performance, features and price to best meet your needs? Read on to find out.
