Call of Duty: World at War

Call of Duty was tested at 1920x1200 with all in game settings at their maximum level. Anti-aliasing was set to 4x and anisotropic filtering to 16x.

The Radeon 4770 does not currently know where it wants to sit in terms of price. If you live in the UK (and parts of Europe) it currently costs around the same amount as the 9800 GT. For those living in the US it is possible to pick up a GTS 250 for the same price as the 4770, after discounts/rebates. Therefore we have included both of those Nvidia parts in our comparisons. In addition to this we have added a 4850 to the mix which should give consumers an idea of what the next price bracket up gives them in the Radeon family. (It is also worth noting that in the UK the 4850 is a comparable price with the GTS 250).

So, with those pricing levels in mind, the performance levels are quite interesting. Call of Duty shows us that the minimum framerates are particularly strong on the ATI cards with the 4770 matching the GTS 250 and exceeding the 9800 GT. Average framerates favour the higher specification Nvidia part but the 4770 still puts in a good level of performance.
