It was many months ago that ThermalTake released their first PSUs, these were good enough for them to start gaining a strong reputation in this highly competitive market. Today we will take a look at their affordable, mid-range PSU, the ToughPower 500W. The ToughPower 500W is a modular and silent PSU, but is it good enough to compete in the wide spanning but budget minded mid-range market?

Packaging and Bundle
The ThermalTake ToughPower 500W unit is supplied in a rather simple, white cardboard box. Everything inside is very well secured between Styrofoam pieces so the product should be very safe during shipping. As well as the unit, you will also find a bag with the modular cables, a box with the AC power cable inside it, a well written manual, a case sticker, the necessary 3M screws and a silicone anti-vibration gasket.
