Zotac 9800 GTX

The Zotac 9800 GTX arrives in the standard Zotac branded box which lists various specifications down the right hand side. There is also a sticker on the box which informs us that there is a free copy of Lost: Via Domus included inside. This recently released title has received some decent reviews across the web and so should be a nice packaging enhancing item. Inside we find the full range of extras including two power converters, DVI>HDMI convertor and SPDIF cable. The documentation could be better but that is the only slight negative here.

In terms of support Zotac offer a few options, a telephone line, email address and finally a forum where end users can as for help. Zotac's warranty currently lasts 5 years.

Zotac’s 9800 GTX is also a reference design card with 512Mb of DDR3 and 675/1100/1688MHZ clocks. 2-way and 3-way SLI are supported as are PureVideo HD and DirectX 10. We can also see in the picture above that there are no memory chips on the back of the reference design, all are on the front of the card and cooled by the dual slot cooler.

Along the top edge of the Zotac card we can see the SLI connectors, small audio socket (for use with the bundled cable) and the two six pin power sockets. Also visible on the back edge of the card is an open section which allows air to circulate around the components in this area.
