Here at Driver Heaven we use quite a lot of Razer hardware both on our work PCs and test systems. The hardware ranges from mice to headphones and the majority of the components are very good, the DeathAdder mouse has yet to be beaten as far as we are concerned.

It seems everyone in the technology industry is branching out into new areas nowadays; in fact it is hard to think of one major company who specialises in a single product type. Zalman have been known for some time now as specialists in PC cooling but have more recently been releasing PSU’s and cases. Some of you might not know they also are delving into headsets and today we will be looking at two of these products. The first is a USB 5.1 headset which does not require a 5.1 soundcard in the PC, or a soundcard in the system at all for that matter. Secondly we have a stereo headset which is aimed at MP3 player owners who need that little extra bit of quality over the bundled earphones.

Razer are based in San Diego California and have a long history of producing fantastic gaming mice such as the Razer Boomslang, which was a revolutionary product when it was released.
In the years since then Razer have been producing mice which are more than a match for their competitors and the latest in the range is the DeathAdder, their first to feature a 3rd Generation optical lens. Razer don't just make mice however and in recent times they have branched out into audio products, one of which we have been able to get our hands on. The Barracuda headset features true 5.1 capability and (more than a few) impressive specifications. Let us see how the DeathAdder and Barracuda impact our PC experience...

Today we are going to have a look at Zalmans 5.1 surround sound Headphones. Zalman are well known for their line of CPU and GPU cooling solutions, as well as a decent silent line of power supplies. It should be interesting to see how well they fare on the audio side of things.
