well i know quite a few people in alienware so it would be unfair of me to comment, however my friend bought a laptop and it broke down and they took it back and gave him a NEW machine, this was after 8 months. Also they just contacted him after his warranty expired to ask if he wished to extend it. 130 for 2 years total replacement, which I thought was pretty decent, especially as the laptop was over 3k.

I've never been a fan of extended warranties on anything, but in the case of laptop computers I think it is a good thing to purchase right up front due to the complicated nature of repair procedures, frequency of failures, and unique use situations. Over the course of first three years of a laptops life, nearly 20% will require service due to a failure that prevents use of the unit - and about a third of those failures are due to accident in the realm of my experience in a "business" environment (dropped, hard keyboard use, watered my plant over it , AC adaptor plug abused - you name it...). Outside of a business environment (within which you would think those folks are generally pretty careful) I can imagine failures related to accident would be higher.

$130.00 for a two year warranty extension including accident coverage (be careful on the warranty wording - they can be tricky...) is a steal.

I would have to say Alienware is pretty awsome. My brother got the most high end Area 51 M at the time + 3 yr service plan and he took it too Iraq so he could play video games... But anyway that laptop looked like it had been through hell and back. Also on the way back customs put it through a metal detector and fried the graphics cards (I believe). So recently he talked to a rep and sent it in and they said they would repair and damaged parts free of charge and that if he wanted anything upgrgaded he would have to do it after they send it back from being repaired. You might think all companies should do that but his pc looked like it had been drop kicked about 1,000 times.

They are a bit Pricey but if you want the best, buy an alienware (I also highly recommend their warranties)

Alienware is like the Lexus of cars. They leave you with no money in your pocket, but they treat you really nice. My friend has one, a laptop. It's nice and all, but I prefer desktops.

I know people that bought from them, But I haven, perfer to built my computer and save lots of money then getting rip off from them, I told many people and even showed them that they could built a better computer and cheaper. If they built it there self, with partlists I made.

The partlist made good items to prove to people that didnt belive me. Now if I was buying a laptop then I would go to alienware for a laptop.

Alienware's service is superb. The only downside to buying from them is the cost.
